We all bring our own needs, wants, values, beliefs, attachment styles, and personal history to the table…well relationships, thus making conflict inevitable. 

The good news is, researchers have found that whether a relationship will come to an end is not predicted by whether a couple fights but rather how they fight, and this can be learnt.

Whether you’re dating, engaged, or married, the Gottman Method approach to couples counselling offers a safe, supportive, and neutral space for couples to explore what is working in their relationship and opportunities for growth.

Instead of talking “about” one another, couples learn new ways to talk “to” one another in a way that both partners feel seen, heard, and understood.

Research has shown time and time again the incredible benefits we receive from being in nature and moving our bodies. Being fortunate enough to have a practice situated in the (territorial acknowledgment) also known as Whistler and Vancouver I have incorporated a walk & talk therapy. It’s exactly what it says on the tin. We walk. We talk.

I know you have a lot going on already which is why I don’t want your transformational journey to feel like yet another thing you “have to do”. 

Whether you’re a busy professional, parent, or student, online counselling which by the way has been shown to be as effective as the in-person therapy model allows you to engage in life changing work from the comfort of your own home or any other private space you want to talk.

I turned to yoga as a way to rehabilitate after severing my ACL and undergoing knee surgery. I fell in love with the practice and everything that comes with it e.g. meditation and breathwork. I have used many of these methods with clients if they are interested.

COMPASSION

Did you know that it’s the relationship between counsellor and client that predicts whether or not therapy will have a successful outcome? I know, right! It’s not really about all the therapeutic techniques that the therapist knows, how much training, or how many years we’ve trained. It’s about how safe, seen, and heard you feel. My compassionate approach when working with clients is of highest value.

COLLABORATION

At the end of the day, no one knows yourself like you do. My work is not to tell you what to think or do. That’s because I believe that we all possess that inner wisdom that knows innately what is best for us. My job is to hold space for you whilst you reconnect with that inner wisdom.

CONNECTION

This one has multiple parts. First off, my hope is that our work together will facilitate a deeper more compassionate connection with yourself and in turn leads to a better connection with others and the world at large. Second, there is an ever-increasing amount of research that shines light on the mind body connection. Meaning, our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can positively or negatively affect our biological functioning and vice versa. What we do with our physical body (what we eat, how much we sleep, how much exercise, and even our posture) can impact our mental state.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Being vulnerable and sharing personal and sensitive information can feel very scary.
I have worked with clients from various backgrounds and all walks of life. But one thing that they all have in common is they share personal and sensitive information.  As a licensed professional, I place high value on the Canadian Practicing Counsellors Association (CPCA) Code of Ethics. Our work together will remain completely confidential so that you can rest assure that keeping what you share in session is completely confidential…my lips are sealed.

Free 15-minute consultation

With so many counsellors or coaches to choose from, it’s hard to know who to trust with your transformation. We’ll start with a free consult where you can ask me anything. If you feel we’re a good fit, we’ll schedule your first official session where you can share your story and goals.

Initial Session

In our first session, I’ll craft a framework based on you so I can plan the best, most effective journey forward. As we work together, your goals will evolve as you make new discoveries and unearth new ideas.

subsequent SessioNS

It isn’t enough to merely talk for an hour a week. You’ll experience true transformation by making small changes to your thinking and behaviour every day. Each week, we’ll unpack new tools to empower you for the upcoming week and collaboratively create an action plan to bring more joy into your life

tapering Sessions

If you need extra support, we’ll check in and touch base in booster sessions once you’ve completed.
