Life is difficult right now, or at least some aspect of it is.

You've been proactive. You've read the self-help books, listened to the podcasts, and maybe taken a workshop, but the changes you make are short-lived, and then you're back to square one, feeling more hopeless and alone.

Your inner voice tells you a different way of being is possible, but you don't know what steps to take next.

That's why I'm here, to help you live your best life, whatever that looks like for you.

Meet Sabrina Paterson

about

Hi, I'm Sabrina Paterson. Registered psychotherapeutic counsellor (#4385) in good standing with the Canadian Association of Practicing Counsellors, certified life coach trained under the International Coaching Federation, and graduate from the global leaders in evidence-based therapy like the BECK Institute, The Gottman Institute, and Dr Russ Harris - excuse me while I scoop up all the names I just dropped.

I believe everyone is capable of change (yes, even you!) The data proves it, and trust me, I've been through it.

READ ON TO HEAR MY STORY

welcome!

Sports were my life, and when I was awarded a scholarship to one of the UK's top schools to compete in elite teams, I thought life couldn't get any better.

That was until I severed my ACL, which resulted in knee surgery and being dropped from the team. When my sporting career ended abruptly, I completely lost my sense of self. My meaning, my purpose, and my community were gone.

I enrolled in a bachelor's program that I wasn't genuinely passionate about, but it seemed like the "right thing to do". About three-quarters of my way through university, all the stuff I hadn't processed caught up with me, and I ended up having to take a year off due to the overwhelm and stress of it all.

SO, YOU’VE COME FOR THE TEA…

I don't judge you. I love hearing people's stories. Not just the highlight reel. The real nitty-gritty stories. So, here's mine...

Through practicing yoga, I found meditation, breathwork, and mindfulness. I loved it so much that I decided to embark on my first yoga teacher training in Costa Rica. The experience was so transformative for me that I decided to go back to university to finish my degree and pursue further education, but this time in the psychology and mental health arena.

I attended a two-year program in counselling and immersed myself in various additional specialized training. After graduation, I worked with women and children in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside, a place known notoriously for homelessness, addictions and trauma. Things seemed like they had fallen into place. I felt like I was on the right path. A sense of purpose was growing back, and then another wave hit...

During that time, I decided to immerse myself in yoga with the intention of healing my body and my emotional and mental state.

I TRAVELLED TO WHISTLER AND BEGAN COACHING SNOWBOARDING, WORKING AT LULULEMON, AND WORKING AS A SERVER.

I ended up in what I didn't realize then: an emotionally abusive relationship. Subsequently, I went through a divorce, making nightmares look like Christmas morning. FYI the only presents I got were anxiety, depression, and prescription medication.

The good news is that I had the tools to move through it.

Despite what was thrown at me, I continued to show up every single day, especially for my daughter. It was the first time I truly had to embody what I learned, and I don't know where I would be today if I hadn't.

NOW, ME OR MY LIFE ARE BY NO MEANS PERFECT (THERE'S NO SUCH THING AND I'M COOL WITH THAT)...

I trip up and experience days where I just want to hide under my duvet just like everybody else, but the awesome thing is, when it happens, I don't get stuck there for long. I've done the work and continue to do so every single day. I've learned and keep learning the tools that lead to incredible life change. I can say with full-blown naked confidence that I am living my best life!

My decision to set up private practice was born from the understanding that when we pursue a meaningful life, it inherently comes with challenges, and the more tools we have in our toolbox to meet those challenges, the better equipped we are to be unstoppable.

I don't have all the answers or a crystal ball.

It is my mission to help women like you heal, learn and transform so you can start living your best life NOW… whatever that looks like for you.
